Independence Awards
Location: At the Church
Members are asked to note that the ECC of SDAs will celebrate the 58th Anniversary of our nation’s Independence with an Adventist flair on Sabbath, November 30, 2024, here at Mile & A Quarter, under the theme “Stronger Together Through Divine Grace”.
As a part of the day’s programme, the Conference Administration will be seeking to give recognition to various categories of persons who have given yeoman service to the Church over the years, or have assisted the Adventist Church in receiving community or national recognition through their contribution in health, education, media, sport and music, among others.
Each congregation is therefore asked to examine the list of categories for the awards and submit the name of one person per category as well as provide a brief write up for each nominee. A Steering committee will be responsible for selecting the awardees from among the submissions.
The categories are as follows:
1. Stalwarts - Individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the Seventh- day Adventist Church, Nationally, Regionally, and Internationally (globally) in various fields.
2. Retirees - Administrators, Janitors/watchmen/guards with long service, teachers 40+years)
3. Community Service - Community projects (SDA or NON SDA Members who contributed to the Church at the community level
4. Youth - SDA Prefects, Head Boys and Head Girls in Public/Private Schools.
5 Outstanding Contributions – e.g: Standing for their faith, Significant National Service, Public Life, Sportsmanship, other)
The deadline for submissions is Monday, November 4, 2024.
