Background
When we review the past eleven months, many of us recognise that we have not been completely faithful to God. We have given God an IOU, however He has never withheld blessings from us. Our merciful Saviour has given us the opportunity of Square-up Day which allows us to make things right with Him before the end of the year. It has been traditionally observed by Seventh-day Adventists on the first Sabbath in December.
Call to Action
Let us examine your hearts. Let us reflect honestly on the past eleven months. Let us ask ourselves the following questions:Have I been totally faithful to God?
Have I been fully committed to Him?
Have I given him all of the time that He required of me?
How have I used my time at school, my time on the job, and the time while I was interacting with others?
Is anyone closer to God as a result?
Have I used the skills and talents He has given to me fully in His work of sharing the Good News of Salvation?
Has God’s Church benefitted from my God-given abilities?
Have I returned to God a faithful tithe during this year?
Have my offerings reflected my appreciation of His undeserved goodness and mercy to me?
Can God or others tell where my heart is based on how I have handled “my” money?
Recommitment
Do you want God to say that you have robbed Him?No, you don’t. Do not allow the year to end without making wrong things right.
On December 4 this year, recommit yourself – your time, your abilities and your finances – to God!
May we be faithful even when facing death, and God will give each of us a crown of life.
